A new Japanese place worth its weight in ikura. Shokuyoku!
I tried the downstairs area for lunch, which has bar stools and a long counter where you can eat and watch the chefs prep. They were doing a grand job, because my mixed sushi/sashimi platter was second to none. Big fat slices of salmon and tuna with a few random well-rolled rolls. Notably high quality soy sauce too for a bit of a dip. Add in a few cold draught Superdry beers and this turned from a quick lunch to a real treat. If I had stayed any longer in town I would have loved to try the upstairs bit, a more formal, conventional Japanese restaurant. Thanks Hook, for a lunch to remember. Hey reader, look at my photo of the sushi platter and tell me you don’t want to eat it right now! 食欲
